Michael, the guitarist of the rock and roll band, King Falcon, started his School of Rock journey as a student, but before that, his love of guitar began with the video game, Guitar Hero (Activision). Since then, he's traded the guitar-shaped controller for a pretty sweet vintage guitar collection - and one of those, a 1957 Fender Stratocaster, has a unique story behind it. • School of Rock is a worldwide family, and as a community we celebrate together, but we also lean on each other in challenging times. We recently heard the news that Stuart McGachan, a staff member at School of Rock Columbus, lost his father after a brave battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Before his father's passing, Stuart initiated an incredible event to raise funds in the fight against the disease that has deeply affected his family. Over 40 talented UK musicians have generously volunteered their time and talent to support the Name'5 Doddie Foundation, which involves performing 100 songs from the Beatles' catalogue throughout the day. "Dad's love of The Beatles was passed down to the whole family, and we wanted to do something special for him, the community, and the charity that has been so kind to us," says Stuart. School of Rock isn't just thriving in Brazil, it's thriving passionately, with a vibrant community and a strong commitment to our mission 🇧🇷 Earlier this month, our Chief Operating Officer, Stacey Ryan, took a trip to Brazil, where she toured a number of schools, met with their dedicated staff, and witnessed how brilliantly the School of Rock brand is being represented in Brazil. This representation goes beyond language barriers, as the passion within the community is palpable, leaving an indelible mark on the lives it enriches. With close to 50 School of Rock locations in Brazil, Stacey made her way around the country with master franchisee Paulo Sérgio Portela Santos, stopping in Recife, Rio, Brasilia, São Paulo, Ibirapuera, Itaim, Vila Mariana, Lapa-Vila, Vinhedo, and Pinheiros. Each school owner and team member she met along the way exhibited remarkable focus and unwavering dedication to delivering their contribution at the highest possible standard. Here's what Stacey had to say: "In addition to the school visits, there were numerous lunches, dinners, and coffee conversations shared among us. Our discussions revolved around our shared goals of helping more kids, strengthening global community connections, and playing a more significant role in the future of music education. But above all, we constantly reminded ourselves of the profound mission we all serve within School of Rock: enriching more lives. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every person I had the privilege of spending time with during my visit. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to this extraordinary mission are nothing short of inspiring."
