รู้ suffix ต่อท้ายที่เป็นคำนามที่เป็นคนไปแล้ว เรามารู้เพิ่มกับ suffix ต่อท้ายแล้วเป็นคำนามชนิดอื่นๆ กันต่อเลยนะคะ แต่ขอเตือนก่อนเลยนะ ว่ามันอาจจะดูเยอะนิดส์นึง แต่ว่าเป็นเรื่องที่เราต้องพบเจอ และใช้กันอยู่เป็นประจำเลยแหละค่ะ

ยังคงต้องย้ำกันอีกเช่นเคยว่า suffix เป็นเพียงตัวช่วยให้เดาหน้าที่ของคำ แต่ไม่ได้หมายความว่าเราจะพึ่งพา suffixไปหมดทุกเรื่องนะคะ เพราะยังมีรายละเอียดที่ต้องจำอีก เพราะ suffix บางรูป ก็อาจไปต่อท้ายคำหน้าที่อื่นๆ ได้ ทั้งนี้ ต้องค่อยๆ สะสมไปนะคะ ขอยกตัวอย่าง คำสองคำ ให้ดู เช่น “-y” ถ้าเป็นคำว่า happy ก็จะเป็น Adjective แต่ถ้าเป็นคำว่า glory จะเป็น Noun แปลว่าความรุ่งเรือง ความมีชื่อเสียง เป็นได้นะคะ ซึ่ง พี่ขอบอกเลยว่า ทางที่ดี เราต้องสังเกตบริบทของคำในประโยคด้วยว่า คำแต่ละคำทำหน้าที่อะไร แล้วเราจะเข้าใจหน้าที่ของคำนั้นมากขึ้นเองค่ะ

ตัวอย่าง ข้อสอบ TOEIC เรื่อง Noun

คำตอบ คือ ข้อ 2 information เพราะต้องการคำนามที่แปลว่า ข้อมูล ค่ะ พวกตัวที่ลงท้ายด้วย –tion , -sion เราก็จำไปเลยค่ะ ว่าพวก ชั่น ชั่น (tion, sion) เป็น คำนาม

คำตอบ คือ ข้อ 1 ข้อนี้ต้องการคำนาม และคำนามในตัวเลือก คือ development พวกลงท้ายด้วย “เม้น” ทั้งหลาย ก็เป็นคำนามเช่นกัน
